AMP UP your AM coffee situation with Protein Coffee.
OK. HELLO. Life-changing post about to happen here!!!
So, recently I started following Kelsey Wells on Instagram and she posts all the time about Protein Coffee. And I thought...OMG THIS IS SO GENIUS.
And so obviously I copied her (with my own twist, as always) and found out that I'm 10000% late to the party and this is totally already a thing that people do and know about but that just figures because I swear I'm the last to know everything.
That's what happens when you watch SVU reruns all day instead of learning about the world!!!!!
Anyways, this is a COMPLETE game-changer. First of all, it's an incredibly easy way to slam down almost 30g protein first thing. I always try to start my day with ~30g of protein because I just feel like it sets the tone for the day. But, it's not that easy.
Eggs are an AMAZING protein source (the best, actually) but 2 eggs only provide you about 13g of protein and I cannot eat 4 eggs. I have a weird thing where my body can only handle 2 yolks at a time or I get kinda sick to my stomach (and I'm a yoke girl all the way).
I'm also not a huge smoothie fan. I know, I know, weird, right? I make smoothies for NA because I'll get a craving for one and I'll make it a few times, post about it, then I'm just over it.
Except for the Coffee Bean Smoothie - that shit is fire.
But it requires blending. And I typically can't be bothered to blend..SO. I started making iced protein coffee every morning and it not only tastes like an iced mocha, but it fulfills my AM protein goal.
AND - ok, since we're on the topic of amping up your AM coffee situation, if you follow me on IG you know that I was recently sent a HyperChiller. This life-changing, $30 gem, chills HOT coffee in 1 minute flat....without watering the coffee down. I honestly thought it was too good to be true, but it's not. And this post isn't sponsored - just really really obsessed with my HyperChiller.
So, first I use my HyperChiller to chill my hot coffee (and I use this French Press - if you're not French pressing, you're not living). I pour it into a shaker cup, I put in 1 scoop of Designer Protein Chocolate Whey, 1 scoop of Further Food collagen, and 1/2 Tbsp MCT oil . Obviously, use whatever protein powders you want, but I like to tell you guys exactly what I use and what works for me.
The chocolate whey protein is added straight up for flavor and lots of protein, the collagen is added because I religiously do 2 scoops of collagen every single day (and I explain why it's my #1 beauty and wellness hack here), and the MCT oil is because MCT oil is a special kind of fat (medium-chain triglyceride) found in coconut oil that is a natural fat burner, energizer, and blood sugar controller, ALL things I want to start my day with.
Here's the recipe - you guys are going to fall in love with this, seriously. I've had one every single day for the past two weeks and I don't see myself quitting it anytime soon. Do it, and tag me on FB and IG to show me!

Start your day with a DELICIOUS mocha iced coffee (or whatever flavor you want!) and more than 25g of protein.
- 8 oz cold brew or hot coffee
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (I use Designer)
- 1 scoop collagen peptides (I use Further Food)
- 1/2 Tbsp MCT oil
- Pour hot coffee into a shaker cup. If you don't have a shaker cup, you may want to use a blender to ensure it gets blended really well.
- Add proteins and MCT oil and shake vigorously or blend.
- If using cold brew, pour over ice, and enjoy.
Serving size: 1 coffee
I LOVE this hot or cold. I'm mostly doing cold right now bc it's 1000 degrees in GA, but it actually blends even better in hot coffee.
